Tennis rivals Spirit Lake-Okoboji and Estherville-Lincoln Central met up for a pair of Lakes Conference showdowns Friday, and both would be dominated by SL-O. The boys match played in Estherville, saw Spirit Lake-Okoboji defeat the Midgets in a sweep, 9-0. Picking up the six singles victories were Brandon Stoll (def Brad Olsen, 10-5), Wes Bergquist (def John Reisner, 10-0), Trystan Wiedow (def Levi Jensen, 10-7), Connor Rowley (def Thomas Bortuit, 10-2), Andrew Ites (def Jacob Olson, 10-6), and CJ Kent (def Tim Soper, 10-5). In doubles, the combinations of Stoll/Bergquist (def Olsen/Bortuit, 10-0), Wiedow/Rowley (def Jensen/Olson, 11-9), and Izaak Plunkett/Ryan Willey (def Reisner/Soper, 10-7) were all good enough to earn wins.
The girls dual also finished in a shutout, 9-0 in favor of SL-O. On the singles side, Hannah Coenen (10-7), Rachel Westergard (10-0), Margaret Delaney (10-3), Olivia Rohlk (10-0), Amanda Bueltel (10-1), and Heather Sorensen (10-6) all earned wins. In doubles, Westergard/Coenen (10-3), Rohlk/Natalie Delaney (10-1), and Margaret Delaney/Bueltel (10-0) partnered up to complete the sweep.

Also in the Lakes Conference, the Spencer boys and girls tennis teams both lost to Storm Lake by identical 5-4 scores.
