In golf, Okoboji hosted the girls tour stop in the Siouxland Conference at Woodlyn Hills, however, it would be the Orabs of Sheldon picking up the league victory. Sheldon shot a 195 team total, finishing ahead of second-place Sioux Center at 199. Okoboji registered a 210, grabbing fourth place. Alex Mankle paced the Pioneers with a 44, good for runner-up honors individually, while Kiley Wermersen was fifth with a 47. The Pioneers also counted a 58 from Erin Richey, and a 61 on the card of Sara Mayer. Carrie Wahlstrom of Sheldon was the meet medalist with a round of 43.
The Siouxland boys met at Central Lyon for a meet that would be won by MOC-Floyd Valley. The Dutch shot a 154, with Rock Valley in second at 156, Sibley-Ocheyedan took third with a 157, and Okoboji was fourth at 159. James Halbur shot a round of 38 to lead the Pioneers and finish in the top five. Wes Berguson shot a 39, Tyler Ohl finished with a 40, and Ben DeMuth contributed a 42. Medalist honors went to Ryan Christy of MOC-Floyd Valley with a 36.
The Spirit Lake girls traveled to Hull and topped Western Christian in Lakes Conference golf, 197-225. Whitney Berkland was atop the leaderboard with a 43. Amanda Williams took second at 46. Spirit Lake also counted two 54’s from Hannah Wiedemeier and Abby Goodenow.
The North Union boys went outside the Cornbelt Conference and suffered a 167-188 loss to North Iowa. The Warriors were paced by a pair of 46’s from Austin Minnmann and Sawyer Doocy.
