Spencer-Spirit Lake Swimmers Fall to Sioux City Metro

The Spencer-Spirit Lake Swim team beat Storm Lake,
but fell to 17th-ranked Sioux City Metro, last night at the Spencer
YMCA.

 

Taylor Sieperda placed first in both the 50 freestyle and
100 backstroke.  Her time of 23.96
seconds, in the 50 Freestyle, was the first time in school history that anyone
has finished that race in under 24 seconds. 
She also set the school record in the100
backstroke; finishing in 59.04 seconds.

 

Sieperda was also part of the first place 200 freestyle
relay team, which also set a school record.  The team includes Cassidy Fox, Abby Goodenow, and Emma Dau. 

 

Fox also took first in the 100 Breaststroke.

 

Spencer-Spirit
Lake had two second place
finishers and three third place finishers. 
Second Place Finishers were the 200 Medley Relay team of Jessica Nelson,
Cassidy Fox, Taylor Sieperda, and Emma Dau; and 400 Freestyle Relay of
Krista Detterman, Jen Will, Jessica Nelson, and Emma Dau. Third place finishers:
100 Freestyle Emma DAU; 500 Freestyle Kylie Schooley; 400 Freestyle Relay with
Abby Goodenow, Kylie Schooley, Lydia Schooley, and Kylee Boelter.

 

They’ll compete in Regionals, on Saturday, Oct. 27th,
in Fort Dodge.
